Back in the day of the feature phone, what could be considered the iPhone of feature phones back then was the original Motorola Razr. The handset featured one of the slimmest builds around at that time and it also held a rather premium and highly-coveted status. In fact the Razr V3 sold 130 million units at its peak!
That being said, could Lenovo be thinking of bringing the handset back to today’s smartphone landscape? It does seem unlikely, but recently Lenovo released a teaser video for its upcoming 9th of June event in which we expect the company to unveil new Moto X (or Moto Z) handsets, and in the teaser the company seems to be showcasing the Razr handset.
Now it is possible that the Razr could simply be a throwback to back in the day where Motorola was one of the kings of mobile phones, and that it could simply be a progression of how far the company has come to land at where they are today in terms of products and product design. The alternative could be that Lenovo could be considering relaunching the handset.
We doubt that they will be relaunching the feature phone version of the Motorola Razr. If anything we reckon they’ll probably slap Android on it, kind of like what companies such as Samsung has done with their Android flip phones. Either way we’ll find out soon so do check back with us on the 9th of June for the details.
