iphone headphoneOne of the rumors about the iPhone 7 is that it will ditch the headphone jack. Given that Apple tends to offer up a major redesign every couple of years, this isn’t entirely out of the question. Subsequent rumors, speculation, and analyst predictions have all offered up similar statements in which Apple will indeed be dropping the headphone jack.

However according to a newly leaked photo of an alleged iPhone component, it seems to suggest otherwise. As you can see in the leaked photo, it reveals part of the circuitry of the next iPhone and it does appear to show that the headphone jack is still present in the design. Of course whether or not this photo is the real deal remains to be seen.

After all as we have seen in the past, sometimes the rumors out of China aren’t necessarily the most reliable. It is possible that the headphone jack removal rumors are false as well, but since Apple has neither confirmed nor denied them, it’s really anyone’s guess as to which of the rumors are the real deal.

That being said, more recent rumors have indicated that Apple might save some of the bigger features for the iPhone 8, and that the iPhone 7 is more like an upgraded iPhone 6s with a similar design, possibly thinner and with new antenna bands. Either way it’s best taken with a grain of salt, but hopefully we’ll have more details to share soon.
