Apple-sign-logo110712125041Ever since the iPad Pro made its debut last year with the Smart Connector in tow, there have been rumors buzzing that this feature could find its way into other Apple products in the future. In fact just earlier this year, the smaller 9.7-inch iPad Pro also came with the Smart Connector, which in turn fueled rumors of the iPhone 7 packing the same feature as well.

Now if you were hoping that this was true, you might be disappointed to learn that it might not. This is according to a new report from Mac Otakara (via MacRumors) who claims that Apple has decided to not include the Smart Connector on the iPhone 7 anymore, although they did not say why.

Prior to this, there was a leaked photo of the alleged iPhone 7 that showed a dual camera setup, redesigned antenna bands, and also a Smart Connector on the back. The photo has been highly contested as many seem to believe that it is a fake, but regardless of its authenticity, it sounds like the feature may no longer debut with the iPhone 7.

No doubt it would have been interesting to see what kind of doors a Smart Connector on an iPhone would open up, but maybe we can look forward to it next year with the iPhone 8, but in the meantime is anyone disappointed that there might not be a Smart Connector on the iPhone 7?
