However regardless of what iOS 10 will bring to the table, iOS 9 appears to be chugging along rather slowly in terms of being adopted by users. Last we checked in February, iOS 9 was adopted by 77% of all iOS users, and fast forward to May, it seems that iOS 9’s adoption has only managed to go up by 7% and is now sitting at 84%.
We would have expected (and hoped) that it would see 90% by now, but we guess it will probably still take a few more months until it hits the mark. Admittedly the adoption rates of previous iOS updates won’t be as fast compared to iOS 7 which marked a dramatic overhaul of the iOS platform, but one can hope.
That being said, there have been several issues with the iOS 9 update in general that has potentially put people off from updating. It is also possible that because the update has made older iPhones more or less useless that has put some customers off from updating as well.
