Instagram today introduced a new look for its app, it now has an updated icon and a refreshed app design. It says that the new icon is inspired by the previous app icon, the new one represents a simpler camera while the rainbow continues to live in gradient form. Instagram has also launched updated icons for its other applications which include Hyperlapse, Layout, and Boomerang.
Instagram has rapidly evolved over the past few years, starting out as a place where people could share photos with filters, it goes without saying that getting acquired by Facebook enabled Instagram to grow into much more than what it started out as.
The new Instagram app has a simpler design that puts more focus on photos and videos without changing the way users navigate the app. It says that this new design reflects how vibrant and diverse the content being shared on Instagram has become, the community shares more than 80 million photos and videos every single day.
The previous user interface was quite colorful, whereas the new interface is much simpler with a black and white motif, so the idea here is to make user content pop out more and it does succeed in that objective.
Instagram has released the updated app for both iOS and Android, it’s now available for download from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
