There are many businesses who have accounts on Instagram, which actually makes sense because Instagram is purely for photos, meaning that it would be a good way to to show off their products like clothing, jewelry, or food, minus the clutter of text and other items on the feed on Facebook that might otherwise be distracting.
However unlike Facebook, Instagram never really offered any tools for businesses, at least until recently where we reported that Instagram had started to test out business profile pages. Turns out that businesses did not have to wait for long because Instagram has officially announced new business tools aimed at users who run business profiles on Instagram.
These new tools come in the form of business profiles where they will get special buttons that will allow customers to contact them directly via text, email, or a phone call (right now the only way is to DM them within Instagram, or launch a separate app to email). There will also be insights provided to businesses to get an idea of which posts work better than others, as well as get an idea of the demographics of their audience.
There will also be the option to promote certain posts that asks users to take action, like maybe to reserve/pre-order an item, or to vote on a design, and so on. These tools are expected to begin rolling out to users in the coming months and will make its way to regions around the world by the end of the year.
