According to reports, it seems that the HTC 10 in Europe is getting a software update that bumps its software version up to 1.30.401.1. According to the changelog, it lists camera performance as one of the things that it is improving upon, such as its ability to capture Auto HDR photos, better outdoor sharpness, reduced purple noise in Pro mode, a modified laser autofocus UI, and also improvements to the brightness and low light sharpness in photos.
It does not appear that the HTC 10 in the US has gotten the same update, but we reckon it shouldn’t be too long until it does. Right now carriers in the US are taking pre-orders for the phone so it is possible that by the time they are released to customers that they will already have the latest update installed on it.
We’re not sure how big of a difference the update will be for the camera of the phone, so we guess HTC 10 owners will just have to test it out for themselves, but so far the update does sound rather promising.
