Microsoft has announced that it’s going to bring over the Halo 5: Guardians Forge mode to Windows 10 for free later this year. The Forge mode will enable players on Windows 10 to create and play original levels on PC and even share them with the Xbox One version of this game. Halo 5 Forge mode for PC comes with keyboard and mouse support and purrs along nicely at up to 4K resolution.

Halo 5: Guardians Edition for Windows 10 will be absolutely free when it arrives later this year. Aside from the aforementioned support, it’s also going to allow players to enlist the help of Friends to build, test and play with their Forge creations on PC.

Don’t get excited, though, Microsoft hasn’t confirmed that it’s going to bring the full Halo 5 game over to PC because Halo 5: Guardians Edition on Windows 10 is a standalone title and not the full game.

Microsoft has never ruled out the possibility that Halo 5 could arrive on PC. Some hints have been dropped here and there but so far it hasn’t confirmed anything about Halo 5 for PC. Perhaps this is the first step towards bringing the game over to Windows 10. Those who want to play the full Halo 5 game have only one option right now and that’s to purchase an Xbox One.

A confirmed released date for Halo 5: Guardians Edition for Windows 10 has not been provided as yet.
