According to a recent announcement by the company on Twitter, it seems that the upcoming Google I/O will be streamed in virtual reality for those of you who have a Google Cardboard headset. That and the fact that YouTube for iOS was recently updated with Cardboard support means that even iOS users will be able to join in on the VR fun.
The stream can be watched here where it is expected to go live on the 18th of May at 10am PT, so you might want to bookmark it. It probably shouldn’t be a surprise that Google is focusing so heavily on VR. Like we said, VR is set to be the next big thing and Google does have a lot of VR-related announcements at Google I/O this year.
There have also been rumors to suggest that Google could launch their own standalone VR headset, plus recently there has been confirmation of a certain Android VR platform, although exactly what that entails remains to be seen, but check back with us this coming Wednesday for the details.
