Now according to a new report from The New York Times, a name for the device has potentially been revealed as “Google Home”, which we have to say sounds pretty apt and pretty good. Unsurprisingly Google has declined to comment, but with Google I/O kicking off tomorrow we guess we’ll find out soon enough.
Details of the device also remain scarce, save for the previous rumor which hinted that it could look like the Google OnHub router, and presumably instead of Amazon’s Alexa, Google will probably integrate Google Now into the device. The New York Times report also claims that the device will probably be arriving in the fall.
This means that there could be quite a wait from the product’s announcement to its release, which hopefully won’t go the way of the ill-fated Nexus Q. In any case check back with us tomorrow for all the official details if there are any to be had.
