HBO’s Game of Thrones is popular and there’s no doubt about it. It is also possibly one of the most talked about shows on TV in recent times, or maybe ever (until the next big thing comes along). Fans have cooked up all kinds of theories regarding characters, and let’s not forget what kind of impact the show has had on people naming their babies.
That being said, it seems that Game of Thrones is so popular and important that it has even affected the habits of some. According to PornHub, they have released stats that revealed that during the Game of Thrones premiere last week, it proved to be so popular to the point where traffic dipped by as much as 4% during that time.
Now 4% might not seem like a lot to you, but when you get the kind of traffic PornHub does, 4% equates to millions of users. The stats found that traffic started to dip about an hour ahead of the premiere, and only went back to average levels about four hours later.
The stats also revealed that image searches for the characters from the show also shot up a staggering 370% on the day of the premiere itself.
