With Samsung seeing success from their Galaxy Note series in the past few years, there’s a very slim chance that the company will be passing on the opportunity to launch the Galaxy Note 6 later this year. However it turns out that the Galaxy Note 6 won’t be the only handset from Samsung, and that there could be a “Lite” version in the works as well.
According to the rumors, word on the street has it that there will be a Lite version of the Note 6. Now we’ve seen “Lite” and “Mini” variants before and for the most part, they tend to feature very watered-down specs, but not in this case. If anything it sounds like the only difference would be in its display resolution, and maybe its RAM as well.
The handset is said to sport a 5.8-inch display, similar to the Galaxy Note 6. However instead of a QHD display resolution, it will pack a lower Full HD resolution in its place. Also the amount of RAM is said to be 4GB, versus the 6GB that we have heard would be for the Galaxy Note 6, but other than that the phone will pack the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.
If anything it sounds like the kind of differences we might expect from the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, which means that either way you will still end up with a pretty good handset, it’s just how much you’re willing to pay to get the “better” model, but until then take it with a grain of salt.
