Galaxy Note 6 Could Feature 6GB Of RAM, Iris Scanner

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-5-16The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will be Samsung’s next flagship handset and we expect that it will pack nothing but the latest and best hardware. It is easy to assume that based on the trends that Samsung will probably include a fingerprint sensor which is more or less the norm these days, or are they?

According to reports, it has been noted that Samsung has filed for trademarks in the form of “Samsung Eyeprint” and “Samsung Iris” over in Europe, both of which sound like they could be related to iris scanning technology, which has led to speculation that Samsung could be considering to include it in the Galaxy Note 6.

There are some who believe that iris scanning tech is more accurate (and thus safer) than fingerprint scanning, but apart from Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, there aren’t that many handsets that rely on the technology, but maybe Samsung is thinking about turning it mainstream and given their influence, it is possible.

In addition to a possible iris scanner, there are talks about Samsung including 6GB of RAM in the phone. Now it does seem like a lot and maybe a tad excessive, but the company did recently announce its latest LPDDR4 6GB RAM chip built using the 10nm process, which we wouldn’t think is a stretch if they included it in the Galaxy Note 6.

We know that 6GB seems like overkill, but if it does give Samsung a leg up over the competition, why not? In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but if the July launch rumors hold up, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out for ourselves.
