Last we heard ,the Fujifilm X200 (the rumored name of the successor) was set for a launch in the second half of 2016, and that the camera was rumored to sport a different lens. However according to the folks at Fuji Rumors, they have learnt that is no longer the case, and that the upcoming Fujifilm X200 will actually be maintaining the same 23mm lens as its predecessors.
For those unfamiliar with the X100 lineup, they have kept the same 23mm (35mm equivalent) lens for the past few generations. It also packs an aperture of f/2.0 which makes for relatively decent bokeh at that size. Combine the 23mm with an aperture of f/2.0, it’s easy to see why the camera was voted as one of the most popular travel cameras.
The rumors had initially suggested that Fujifilm could be looking to go wider with a 18.5mm lens (28mm equivalent) which we suppose would technically be better for landscapes since it is wider, but the maintaining of the 23mm will be good news for those who love their street photography. Of course it should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll find out the details soon.
