As you might have heard, the next-gen Call of Duty title has recently been announced in the form of Infinite Warfare. The game was announced for the PC as well as consoles such as the PS4 and the Xbox One. Now we’re sure some gamers might be wondering what about older consoles like the PS3 or Xbox 360?
In case it wasn’t already obvious, neither of these consoles will be supported. Just in case you wanted explicit confirmation, the folks at Infinity Ward (the developers of the game) have confirmed on Twitter that Infinite Warfare will not be arriving either Sony PS3 or the Xbox 360. Like we said, this should be pretty obvious by now, but at the same time we guess it’s not surprising that there are still gamers holding onto their older consoles.
If this were a year or so ago, we guess it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that the game would be available across last-gen and current-gen consoles, especially during the period of transition where gamers from last-gen are starting to upgrade to the newer consoles. However fast forward to today, we guess it would be unreasonable to expect developers to continue to cater to last-gen consoles, especially when you consider that tens of millions units of the current-gen consoles have been sold to date.
