Campaign modes are fun if you’re the type that loves a good story, and sometimes this is made even more fun when you can play it with your friends. For example in games like Baldur’s Gate and Diablo, the stories can be played through from start to end with your friend, making the multiplayer experience more cooperative than competitive.
Unfortunately if you were hoping that the upcoming Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will have a co-op campaign, you will be disappointed to learn that it won’t. Activision has recently confirmed to the folks at VideoGamer.com that there will not be a co-op campaign mode, and that the campaign mode will be single-player only.
The good news is that the game’s Zombie mode will be co-op, so we guess there’s always that if you absolutely do want to play together with friends. Last year’s Black Ops 3 featured a 4-player campaign co-op mode which is why some gamers are curious to see if the feature will be returning to this year’s title.
Based on this, we’re not sure if it is because the feature is developer-specific (Black Ops 3 was developed by Treyarch, while Infinite Warfare is by Infinity Ward), or if it is simply a feature that won’t be present in future Call of Duty titles anymore, but either way we guess gamers now have their answer.
