The age of the connected car is upon us. Our cars are smarter than they used to be so we can now control many things using our smartphones and smartwatches there were previously not possible unless you were inside the car. Like many other car makers who have released apps for their connected cars, Bently today released an Apple Watch app for its $200,000 Bentayga SUV.
Many similar apps have already been released by other car manufacturers. The apps enable owners to start their car remotely, find it in a parking lot, and tweak with a few other settings without having to be physically inside the car.
Bentley’s Apple Watch app is similar but it does dial it up a notch, it’s Bentley after all, those who can dish out $200,000 on an SUV do expect more than what the rest of us get with our “normal” cars.
Using the app for the Bentley Bentayga SUV, one can set the cabin temperature, tune to a favorite radio station, control the seat heaters and ventilators, and even the seat massage systems.
Aside from these comfort-related features the app also enables them to view basic trip data like trip duration, current speed, and more.
If this sounds more like an app for passengers than drivers that’s because it is. You wouldn’t be driving your $200,000 Bentley around yourself now would you? Gosh, what would the people say?
