It’s not hard to envision Assassin’s Creed as an MMORPG, and it has been speculated in the past that Ubisoft could be considering an Assassin’s Creed MMORPG and as it turns out, that has kind of happened, although not exactly in the way you and I would have imagined as the MMORPG will come in the form of a mobile game.
Also it should be noted that the game will not be developed by Ubisoft themselves. Instead it will be done through a partnership with Chinese game publisher Ourpalm in which the latter will be the ones responsible for developing the game, presumably with Ubisoft simply loaning them the rights to use the Assassin’s Creed branding and imagery.
The game will also be released for the Chinese market for now and it does not sound like there are any plans to bring it to the West. Ubisoft and Ourpalm have worked together in the past with mobile titles like “Hungry Shark Evolution”, so we guess it’s not a surprise to see both companies working together again.
It is unclear as to what kind of game this will end up becoming, and there is no word on its release either so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
