Android Pay Can Be Used To Withdraw From Bank Of America ATMs

android_payMobile payment platforms like Apple Pay, Android Pay, and Samsung Pay can be used to pay for purchases and that’s pretty much a given. However in addition to being able to purchase items, it can also be used to withdraw money from ATMs which is what we’ve seen platforms like Samsung Pay do.

The good news is that if you do not use Samsung Pay but prefer Android Pay, you will be pleased to learn that Bank of America ATMs will now support withdrawal of money from its ATMs using Android Pay. Prior to this, the bank had been running the trial in various parts of the US, but it looks like it is now ready for primetime.

The bank’s initial rollout will cover 2,400 ATMs this month, and the bank is targeting at least 5,000 of its ATMs by the end of the year. The process will be similar to how one normally withdraws from an ATM, but instead of using a card, your phone will act as an ATM card. Users will still need to enter their ATM pin.

We suppose the upside here is that if you’re going for a night out around town and don’t want to keep your cards on you, then we guess this would be one way to go about it.
