Now it seems unlikely that Cook would have simply shared Apple’s plans for upcoming products because if you’ve seen Cook’s interviews, he almost never talks about upcoming products. However at the same time with so many companies diving into virtual reality, the most recent being Google with their Daydream platform, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Apple was at the very least exploring the tech.
In the past we have heard reports of Apple looking to develop the technology on their end. The company has reportedly been spending time at Stanford’s VR lab and their recent hires have also suggested that they are interested in augmented and virtual reality tech. Plus earlier this year, Cook did say how “cool” he thought VR was.
In any case we suppose this does seem like a bit of a stretch, so take it with a grain of salt, but who knows, maybe Apple could share details of their plans at WWDC which is taking place next month.
