Snapchat is sending out a new update today which allows its millions of users to stick emoji to moving objects in a video. The new update makes it possible to attach stickers and emoji to objects and have them track around a scene. This will enable users to utilize emojis as a mask for their face and come up with more creative ways of using emojis in videos.
The new feature can be accessed by recording a video in Snapchat and then tapping the sticker button on the top like a user would to place a static sticker. Once the sticker or emoji has been placed in the right position in the video users can long press on it so that it remains stuck to that object or person.
Once that’s done, the sticker or emoji will continue to follow that face or object throughout the video, adding yet another dimension to videos on Snapchat. The most obvious use of this feature is to mask your face or that of someone else who doesn’t want to reveal their identity in the video.
Snapchat is rolling out this update for Android first, it’s already gone live on the Google Play Store, the update is going to be released soon for iOS as well.
