The latest trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse is out today and it features one the most loved mutants in the franchise. Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, makes a brief appearance in this latest trailer confirming that Wolverine will indeed be featured in the upcoming X-Men movie. Fans of the franchise will appreciate his return as Jackman is more or less done with playing the angriest mutant of them all.
It wasn’t confirmed previously if Jackman would be reprising his role as Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse but today’s trailer all but confirms the reality. The two-and-a-half minute trailer also makes some other revelations.
The trailer confirms that Magneto is Quicksilver’s father, and also provides a deeper look at Mystique’s inner conflict. We even get a proper look at Apocalypse, played by Oscar Isaac.
Hugh Jackman will only be coming back for one more Wolverine movie after which he’s going to hang up his claws. There’s speculation about the actor who will be chosen to replace Jackman as Wolverine in the X-Men universe, many fans are of the view that perhaps the X-23 comic book character will take over.
In case you’ve not read the comics, X-23 is a female clone of Logan who takes the Wolverine name once the original Wolverine eventually dies. Perhaps that might happen in the cinematic X-Men universe at some point in the future.
