How many of you guys are excited to see the upcoming Warcraft movie? I know I am, although admittedly I am a bit apprehensive given that movie adaptations of video games haven’t exactly been doing very well in the recent years, although admittedly they have seen some improvement, but hopefully I will be proven wrong this time.
That being said, for fans of the Warcraft franchise, chances are you are pretty familiar with the universe’s lore and history, but just in case you’re new to Warcraft and you’d love a little bit of backstory, you might be interested to learn that Legendary will be publishing a graphic novel titled “Bonds of Brotherhood” that will act as a prequel to the movie.
The story will be by Blizzard’s Chris Metzen and will be written by Paul Cornell, drawn by Mat Broome, Michael O’Hare, Eddie Nunez, Roy Allan Martinez, Ale Garza, and Mike Bowden, with the cover art drawn by Kevin Tong as you can see in the image to the right. Note that the movie won’t be drawing from the Warcraft lore 100% so even for fans of the game, the prequel will probably still be worth checking out.
It will be released on the 7th of June and will be priced at $25. The release is set a few days before the Warcraft movie is released, which last we checked has been pegged for the 10th of June.
