If you’re the type who loves watching movies at the highest-resolution possible, then you might be pleased to learn that this coming summer, the folks at Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will be adding several titles to their list of 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray catalogue, and the best part is that if you’re also a fan of Blizzard’s Warcraft franchise, it seems that Warcraft will be part of that collection too.
There are expected to be more than 100 titles available in 4K Ultra HD in both Blu-ray and digital formats added to Universal’s catalogue by the end of the year, but coming this summer it seems that we can look forward to titles like the upcoming Warcraft movie and The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
That being said, the folks at Engadget seem to believe that 4K Blu-ray discs could be dead on arrival. With video streaming services starting to allow for 4K video streams, the need to purchase expensive 4K Blu-ray discs might be considered unnecessary for some. However we guess there are collectors who do enjoy holding physical copies of their movie purchases, so if you are one of those collectors, then this summer’s release could be worth looking forward to.
In the meantime the latest Warcraft movie trailer has been released so that’s worth checking out as well.
