Galaxy S6 Edge+ owners on Verizon will be delighted to find out that Big Red has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for this handset. Users have been waiting for months to get a taste of Marshmallow and at least that dream has come true for Galaxy S6 Edge+ owners on Verizon. The carrier has also released a minor update for the Galaxy Note 5 today.
The Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ brings new features such as Wi-Fi calling, improvements to the Edge panel, improved notifications experience, better app permissions, Doze mode, Google Now on Tap and much more.
The improved Edge Panel features which include Apps Edge and Task Edge are not exactly new since they’ve already been on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge for over a month now. The feature makes the curved display on this handset more useful than it ever was before.
Galaxy Note 5 owners shouldn’t get excited about today’s update as it only brings fixes for connectivity issues, but then again, the Galaxy Note 5 was the very first device that Verizon updated to Marshmallow, so they’re already ahead of the back.
Both updates are rolling out over the air and should arrive on users’ devices shortly.
