Vaio’s first Windows 10-powered smartphone was unveiled earlier this year in February. Just in case you weren’t aware, it’s no longer a Sony division, the Japanese giant sold it off quite some time ago. Vaio is still in the business of making PCs and earlier this year it also tried its hand at making a Windows 10-powered smartphone which has finally gone on sale.
It’s called the Vaio Phone Biz and it features a 5.5 inch full HD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor under the hood coupled with 3GB RAM. There’s also a 13 megapixel rear camera.
Vaio’s Windows 10-powered smartphone is now available for purchase albeit only in Japan. It was available for pre-order just last month, shipments have started today. Those who couldn’t get a pre-order in can purchase this smartphone from the Vaio store as well.
Vaio’s website lists the price for the Phone Biz at JPY 59,184 which is roughly about $530 as opposed to the JPY 50,000 or $430 price point the company confirmed when it unveiled the handset in February this year.
The company has confirmed that it’s selling this Windows 1-powered handset in Japan starting today, it previously confirmed that it doesn’t have any plans to launch the Phone Biz in the United States.
