Rumor has it that Tesla is soon going to announce and upgraded model of the Model S sedan. All of the changes are expected to be made under the proverbial hood as Tesla isn’t said to be considering major changes to the design just yet. According to a new report, the upgraded Tesla Model S that’s likely going to be unveiled soon might include a 100kWh battery option as well as the “Bioweapon Defense Mode” which debuted with the Model X crossover.
Citing a source, The Verge reports that Tesla might introduce the upgraded model in the coming week and that it’s going to feature a 100kWh battery option as well as the Bioweapon Defense Mode air filtration system that Tesla introduced with the Model X.
Most prospective Model S owners will be more interested in the 100kWh battery option, currently, the largest battery option available for this sedan is 90kWh, so it’s going to be a welcome increase.
Previous reports suggest that the upgraded model might also get LED headlights and ventilated seats, new paint colors might also be on the agenda though there’s no confirmation on that just yet.
Tesla has not yet commented on rumors about an upgraded Model S, it doesn’t shy away from shooting down outrageous rumors, so there just might be some truth to this. We’ll have to wait and see if and when Tesla decides to make this announcement.
