This was announced at PAX East and basically as the name suggests, this feature lets users keep in touch with their friends on Twitch. According to Twitch, “Twitch is about to become much more friendly… with the introduction of Friends List! Friends List lets you connect to Friends, see who’s online, and whisper them with just one click!”
The good news is that Twitch is also expected to begin rolling out the feature in beta and will be sending out invites soon. If you don’t get an invite, don’t worry because your friend just needs to send you a Friend request which in turn also qualifies as an invite to the beta, so keep an eye out for that.
“Soon we will be sending out the first round of invites for the Friends List Beta. Once you’re in, you’ll have your very own Friends List and be able to send Friend requests to other Twitch users that will double as invitations to the Beta.” Unfortunately signups to the beta are only available at Twitch’s booth at PAX East come 23rd of April, so if you are not in attendance you might miss out on this.
