The uBox was created in collaboration with graduate students at Clemson University’s International Center for Automotive Research, where Toyota places uBox customers in the mould of entrepreneurs and members of “generation Z”, hence the concept vehicle itself was designed in such a manner that it would be pleasing to the eye, and yet is versatile enough to be transformed from a recreational vehicle into a mobile office thanks to an interior that is reconfigurable.
Customizable bits and pieces include the vents, dashboard display fixtures and door trim thanks to the wonders of 3D printing, in addition to an online hub that lets folks share their designs. The uBox will also boast of 110-volt sockets so that one’s mobile devices will never have to die on them while they are on the move. Pretty nifty, don’t you think so? [Press Release]
