blackberry-priv-review_ubergizmo_10Interested in getting your hands on the BlackBerry Priv? Earlier this year at CES, BlackBerry announced that the handset would be available for purchase from pretty much all of the major carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint. However it looks like that might not be happening anymore, at least as far as Sprint is concerned.

According to a recent tweet by a Sprint rep (via Crackberry), it seems that the carrier will no longer be carrying the handset afterall. The tweet reads, “Sorry to say but we will no longer carry the BlackBerry PRIV. If this changes in the future we will update customers.” Sprint has yet to officially confirm this but for now it looks like customers will have to look elsewhere for the BlackBerry Priv.

Multiple Sprint reps have also said the same thing so we guess you should probably not get your hopes up just yet. No word on why Sprint has decided to not carry the phone last minute, but it is rather unfortunate. So far reviews of the Priv have been mostly positive, with many praising the experience as the best of both worlds: BlackBerry hardware with Android software.

However its price does leave a lot to be desired, but BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen did recently confirm that they are planning on launching two mid-range BlackBerry Android handsets later this year, so if the Priv is a bit out of your budget, there will be more options for you to choose from.
