Spider-Man: Homecoming Is Official, Set For July 7, 2017 Release

spider-man homecomingThe Spider-Man movie franchise has seen a change of actors three times in a relatively short amount of time, at least as far as the more modern adaptations of the movie are concerned. However third time’s the charm, right? Now last we heard, Spider-Man: Homecoming was a possible title for the latest reboot and it looks like the rumors were right.

Marvel has officially announced that the next Spider-Man movie will indeed be called Spider-Man: Homecoming. They have also announced an official release date for the movie which is set for the 7th of July, 2017. Interestingly enough it seems that they have gone for a rather different look/feel compared to the previous Spider-Man movies, but given that they felt the need to reboot the franchise twice, maybe different is a good idea.

The latest actor to take on the role of Spider-Man is Tom Holland. For those curious as to how Holland’s take on the superhero will be like, you won’t have to wait until 2017 as Holland’s Spider-Man will be making a cameo in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie which is set for a release on the 6th of May, 2016.

So far Holland’s performance as Spider-Man has been widely praised by the likes of Guardians of the Galaxy’s director James Gunn, who called Holland the best Spider-Man/Peter Parker by far, going as far as saying that Holland’s take on the superhero has made him as synonymous as Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Heath Ledger’s the Joker. In any case we suppose we’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves next month.
