Microsoft hasn’t hinted about coming out with a new variant of the Xbox One but some FCC filings have been discovered which suggest that a slim Xbox One might be in the pipeline. Though it’s just speculation at this point, it’s possible that if this console is a reality then it might be unveiled at the E3 gaming convention in June this year. As previously mentioned, there’s no confirmation from Microsoft on this just yet.

The FCC filings have been discovered by NeoGAF user ekim. One of the filings lists model 1683, the contents of this filing are under NDA until June 25th, one week after Microsoft’s conference at E3 2016. This filing mentions “User Manual 1525,” which leads many of believe that this is a new Xbox One model because 1525 is the model number of the Xbox One that’s currently available.

What this means is that if this new Xbox One model is indeed a slim version of this console then it would use the same safety manual as the one available with the current console. Model 1682 is mentioned in another filing which doesn’t include the 1525 safety manual, this could potentially be a new Xbox One model that’s not the slim model or the one being sold right now.

FCC filings are not confirmation of upcoming products and shouldn’t be taken as such. They merely point at what might happen and it’s not necessary for that indication to be true. We’ll have to wait until more information surfaces on this to be absolutely sure that Microsoft is readying a new Xbox One model for E3 2016.
