It is rather safe to assume that Skype is extremely popular with many computer users as well as mobile device owners when it comes to keeping in touch with family and friends from all over the world without having to break the bank, but Skype does not end at the consumer level, as Microsoft has also ensured that Skype would see action on news channels as talk shows, albeit in a more “professional” format, so to speak, in the form of the studio-grade Skype TX. This time around, Microsoft has upgraded their Skype TX to the latest version, the Skype TX 4.
Boy, does it sound as though the Skype TX 4 is some sort of Terminator model with such a naming convention, but that aside, Microsoft claims that Skype TX will allow broadcasters to “seamlessly integrate a potential cast of 300 million users into a studio workflow – and straight into the heart of a show”, which in turn delivers “all the benefits of Skype minus pop-up windows, chat or other message notifications”.
It will be more flexible and scalable than ever before, as broadcasters and media partners alike can integrate multiple studio-grade Skype video calls into the broadcasting workflow, requiring only a single system to handle multiple calls so that less equipment and setup time are required, helping to save cost in the long run.
