It looks like there will be a new smartphone coming our way soon from South Korean conglomerate Samsung, and as for its naming convention, Samsung has decided to adopt a different letter in the alphabet this time around – the Samsung Galaxy C, which has since been spotted in a benchmark test.

The benchmark test in particular would be the Geekbench 3 benchmark test, and in the test results, it points to a device that carries the model number SM-C5000. Where its hardware specifications are concerned, whatever that were listed by Geekbench pointed to a Snapdragon 617 SoC, which will feature an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 405 GPU, not to mention 4GB of RAM underneath the hood.
In the previous month, the SM-C5000 did appear on India’s import-export tracking site Zauba, where the listing points to a 5.2” display that accompanied the handset. Those who have inside information of Samsung claims that the Galaxy C series has been specially designed to target the Chinese market, although it is nice to know that sales of the handsets will not be limited to the world’s most populous country alone.
