Yesterday we brought word that the official Reddit app would be released soon, and it looks like we did not have to wait too long. For those who are itching to get their hands on the app, it seems that it has already been launched and is currently available for both iOS and Android devices, although at this time of writing it seems that the app’s availability seems to be limited to the US.
So for those of you who are from other parts of the world, you might not be able to get your hands on the app just yet. However we can only hope that this changes in the next few days/weeks. The app is pretty straightforward and does pretty much what other third-party Reddit apps can do, although there are some who might still prefer the unofficial apps but this really boils down to personal preference.
Prior to this, Reddit did not have an official app for the longest time ever which was admittedly rather weird. The closest thing we got to an official app was when the company acquired Alien Blue, which was a third-party app for iOS, thus making it a somewhat official app although it was limited to iOS devices.
In any case if you are interested in checking it out, head on over to the iTunes App Store or Google Play for the download.
