It’s no secret that Netflix routinely pumps hundreds of millions of dollars in the production or original content including movies, TV shows and documentaries in a bid to differentiate its service from the competition and bring in more subscribers. One original series has been in the pipeline over at Netflix for quite some time, it’s regarded as the most expensive series that the online streaming giant has ever made, and now it has confirmed a release date for that series.
It’s called “The Crown,” and it focuses on the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family. According to reports, Netflix has spent over $156 million to produce the first season alone, making it the company’s most expensive original series yet. Claire Foy will be portraying the young queen while Matt Smith is going to star as Prince Philip.
Netflix has already released a teaser trailer for The Crown which doesn’t give away any hints about what we might get to see in the first season, those who have been following news related to the project throughout its production will now be excited to know that at least a release date has finally been confirmed.
In true Netflix fashion, all episodes of The Crown’s first season will be released on Netflix come November 4th.
