Every year without fail, Motorola has launched a new Moto X handset. We were treated to new Moto X handsets last year meaning that come 2016, we should be able to expect a new model as well. Now thanks to a photo obtained by hellomotoHK, we could be having our very first glimpse at 2016’s model.
As you can see in the photo above, the handset pictured has a Motorola logo on the top left corner of the phone which seems to indicate that this is a pre-production unit. The phone itself appears to be rather nondescript but at the bottom of the phone and in the middle, you can make out a little section which hellomotoHK seems to think could indicate a fingerprint sensor.
However by including a front-facing fingerprint sensor, it would seem that the company has decided to do away with the stereo front-facing speakers which is admittedly a rather nice feature to have, but since this is a leak there’s really no telling if it is the real deal. hellomotoHK has in the past been pretty solid with their leaks so there is a possibility that the photo they obtained could be real.
In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully this is just one of the many leaks we can expect as we inch closer towards an official announcement. In the meantime there have been reports of a certain Moto X3 showing up in databases. We can’t be sure if this is related to the Moto X series or if it could be something else entirely, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled all the same.
