Minecraft developer Mojang has confirmed that it’s going to start selling Minecon 2016 tickets from May 6th. The tickets will be available for purchase on May 6th and May 7th. It’s going to sell them in two batches so that people in different time zones have a fair chance to grab some tickets. The countdown to each sale time is now live at the Minecon website.
Those who plan to purchase tickets to Minecon 2016 should keep in mind that tickets cost $160 each and kids who are 3 years old or under go in for free. Tickets will only be sold through the Minecon website and they will be sold through Eventbrite.
6,000 tickets will go on sale initially at 6pm PDT on Friday, May 6th followed by another batch of 6,000 tickets that go on sale at 12pm PDT on Saturday, May 7th. Up to 6 tickets can be purchased on one order.
Tickets one sold can not be resold and they are non-transferrable. The person whose name is on the ticket at the time of purchase will be admitted to Minecon, this means that tickets can’t be scalped or resold, as the name of each person due to attend has to be added before purchasing tickets.
Minecon 2016 is already confirmed to take place on September 24th and September 25th at Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California. Mojang says that this is going to be the biggest Minecon yet with more than 12,000 attendees.
