Unfortunately that has come to an end. According to a recent announcement, it seems that after the 1st of April, cameras manufactured after the date will no longer come with Adobe Lightroom bundled. “We would like to inform customers that Adobe Systems Incorporated has changed their perpetual license software model for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to a subscription-based model through the Creative Cloud Photography Plan.”
Instead what customers will be given is a 90-day license for access to Adobe Creative Cloud, in which Lightroom CC is part of the package. This is no doubt pretty bad news for photographers who just want to use Lightroom and don’t need the rest of the software that is part of the Creative Cloud, not to mention they’ll have to keep paying for the license once it runs out.
There is a good chance that you can still get Lightroom as retailers probably still have Leica cameras pre-1st of April in stock, but if you were to wait any longer there is a good chance you might miss out on it.
