Microsoft’s mobile platform faces one problem that iOS and Android don’t: apps. Developers just don’t prioritize its platform when they’re making apps, just like they don’t prioritize BlackBerry 10 OS. This is why it’s understandable why Instagram for Windows Phone was not updated even though it was first released about two and a half years ago. Today, Instagram for Windows 10 has finally been released, giving users a much better way to use the photo-sharing service.

For a very long time, Windows Phone users have had to use third-party apps to use Instagram, that’s because the official app didn’t allow video uploads. If they wanted to upload videos they needed to use a third-party app.

The new app that has been released today finally brings the ability to upload videos to Windows 10 Mobile. It even provides users with access to direct messages, something that also wasn’t available on the previous application.

Instagram for Windows 10 now has feature parity with its iOS and Android counterparts, since the app even comes with the Explore feature and the ability to switch between multiple accounts without having to sign out and sign in every time.

The only caveat here is that this app is only for Windows 10 Mobile, so if you’re an older device that hasn’t been updated to the latest iteration of Windows for mobile, you’re out of luck. Instagram for Windows 10 Mobile is now live in the Windows Store.
