HTC Sense 8.0 Will Support Freestyle Layout & Stickers

htc sense 8With the upcoming HTC 10, HTC is also expected to debut a new UI called HTC Sense 8.0. HTC has pretty much done that with every major release so it really shouldn’t come as a surprise. Now thanks to a series of tweets by LlabTooFeR, alleged screenshots of the HTC Sense 8.0 UI has been leaked online.

Now we can’t say for sure if what we are seeing is a theme of Sense 8.0 or if it is the main look, but from what we can tell it looks like HTC is going for a cutesy/pastel theme for Sense 8.0, which actually doesn’t look too bad. However it isn’t the theme that caught our attention, it is the apparent freestyle layout that did.

It seems that with Sense 8.0, HTC will allow users to create a freestyle layout where they can position apps and widgets wherever they want, whereas previously more UIs had some kind of grid system where apps and widgets would lock into place. It also seems that there are support for stickers in which stickers can be used to launch certain apps.

So if we are understanding this right, it looks like you could sort of “hide” app icons and have them represented by colorful and cutesy stickers instead. Of course we’d need to get our hands on the phone to try it for ourselves, but either way check back with us on the 12th of April which is when the HTC 10 is expected to be officially announced.
