Now we’re sure some HTC owners of older devices might be a tad envious of the feature, but fret not because it seems that HTC has recently updated its HTC Connect app which will apparently bring similar AirPlay support to its older handsets, such as the HTC One M7, One M8, and last year’s HTC One M9.
For those unfamiliar with AirPlay, this is Apple’s wireless streaming protocol that allows users to stream music and video wirelessly to supported devices. For example there are AirPlay enabled speakers designed specifically to support the protocol, or if you own the new Apple TV, you will also be able to stream content onto it as well.
Granted it does seem odd that an Android device would play so nicely with Apple’s products, but if you’re not really concerned about Android versus iOS and own devices with varying platforms, then this might be a useful feature to have.
