When it comes to our smartphones, we look at features like display size/resolution, processor cores RAM, camera megapixels, and maybe even audio quality. However if there is a feature that most of us probably don’t pay too much attention to or give too much priority to, it would be the phone’s microphone.
Now with the HTC 10, the company is boasting that it comes packed with a 24-bit Hi-Res audio recorder, meaning that compared to regular microphones, the HTC 10 should be able to pick up audio and record them clearer and with better quality. If you’re a musician on the go who wants to record ideas during the spur of the moment, this might come in handy.
In fact a recent video uploaded by Btekt on YouTube has put the HTC 10’s microphone to the test, and unsurprisingly it looks like the handset has managed to blow away the competition. They tested the phone against other phones like the One M9, the Huawei P9, iPhone 6s Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S7.
So far from what we can tell, it is obvious that the HTC 10 is the clear winner in the test. We haven’t conducted any tests ourselves so we can only take this recording at face value, but either way 24-bit Hi-Res audio recording is a feature that most OEMs don’t offer to begin with, so if audio recording is important to you then the HTC 10 could be worth checking out.
