In this developer program, it has already seen over 100 companies jump on board, including toymaker Fisher-Price, who will make use of childproof GoPro camera mounts in its range of walkers and gyms. This particular program will be able to support third-party companies who are “creating very meaningful customer solutions for their own customers while scaling GoPro’s own ecosystem in a very important way.”
GoPro had a very good start thanks to its range of Hero wearable video cameras which targeted action-sports enthusiasts, but other than that niche market, they do face challenges in expanding their horizons, which in turn hurts their bottom line.
