Google Play was launched four years ago and since then the company has made it the go-to destination on Android to watch movies and TV shows, read books, play games, and download applications. The Google Play family of apps include the likes of Play Store, Play Music, Play Music, Play Books and more. The company today introduced a new look for its Play family of mobile applications.
To be clear, Google has introduced a redesign of the icons for its Play apps, the apps themselves will retain their current look and feel though it’s likely that updating their look and feel might be next on the agenda. That’s very much possible.
The updated app icons are much brighter, they look more modern and flat. All of the apps that start with Play now sport the play arrow with a unique icon that lets the user know at a glance which app to open to read books, play games, watch movies and TV or read the news.
Google says that the new Google Play icons will be available across devices and online in the coming weeks. It has made this change to provide a more consistent look across its entire family of Google Play apps.
