Microsoft today confirmed that the open beta for Forza Motorsport 6: Apex for Windows 10 is going to be released very soon, in the first week of May actually. This spin-off title has been developed specifically for Windows 10 and it represents the first step in the future of the Forza franchise on Windows 10 PCs. The game brings a focused and curated single-player tour of Forza Motorsport’s best content.
Forza Motorsport 6: Apex combines Turn 10’s racing expertise with the power of DirectX 12 as well as with Forza’s legacy of amazing content. Microsoft says that this is a good way to introduce Forza’s gameplay to an entirely new audience on Windows 10.
Players can expect the best content from Forza, including wheel-to-wheel action, unique automotive experiences, and constant rewards all running at resolutions up to 4K. Players can take part in a new career mode that’s anchored by a 12-event “Showcase Tour,” in which players will race cars on thrilling circuits from across the globe. In “Spotlight Series,” players will be challenged with unique events that are updated regularly.
Apex has a diverse lineup of 63 cars all of which have working doors, headlights, and cockpits. These cars can be pushed to the limited on 20 different track configurations across six locations with night and wet-weather variants available as well. Since this is just the open beta, Microsoft promises to continue working to improve the game’s performance down the line.
Forza Motorsport 6: Apex open beta will be available to download on May 5th.
