Star Wars: The Force Awakens has had a very good run and while the next movie in this new trilogy isn’t going to arrive soon, there is another Star Wars-related movie that’s going to come out later this year. Today, the first Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer has been released, and from the looks of it the new movie appears to be different from the Star Wars stories that we’re used to.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first of multiple spin-off movies and this particular film is said to take place before the events of the original Star Wars film. Felicity Jones stars in this movie and she leads a group of rebels to steal plans for the Death Star.
Jones plays Jyn Erso in the movie and the trailer revolves around her, revealing that she’s one of the lead characters in this movie, and the fact that she proudly says “I rebel” clearly shows whose side she’s on.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is slated to hit the big screen on December 16th, 2016. Star Wars: Episode VIII is set to arrive a year late. A Han Solo spin-off is also in the pipeline which is going to be released in 2018 before Episode IX ends the new trilogy in 2019. It’s going to be a good few years for Star Wars fans.
