It wasn’t too long ago that Facebook rolled out its Live feature to the masses. For those unfamiliar with the feature, basically it is similar to that of Periscope and Meerkat where users can create live video streams so that their friends and followers and Facebook can tune in. Now Facebook has updated the feature to cover both Groups and Events.
The idea is simple: with the expansion of Live to Groups and Events, Facebook users can now create live streams and have them only be viewable to those who are part of a certain group or event. For example you could have a wedding event and you could then create a Live video for that wedding for those who might not be able to attend and so on.
Facebook has also suggested that users can use this feature to create live Q&A sessions, kind of like a Reddit AMA except with video. In addition, Live has been updated with Live Reactions so that you can express how you feel about a certain video while it is being streamed. There will also be Live Filters to help make your videos more interesting, with the ability to draw and doodle on the video coming soon.
According to Facebook, these features are expected to roll out to iOS and Android users over the next few weeks, so if you’re someone who loves using Facebook Live, you might want to keep an eye out for it.
