It seems that these days most games come with easter eggs hidden in them. Sometimes these easter eggs might be small and just a nod to the developers, or maybe to something or someone who inspired them. However in the case of the upcoming DOOM title developed by id Software, the game’s easter eggs will be huge.
Now we should point out that there will be a bit of a spoiler moving forward so if you’d like to avoid any spoilers about the game itself or easter eggs, we suggest you stop reading. However if you don’t really care about spoilers or you’re just looking to satisfy your curiosity, then read on because these easter eggs are juicy!
In the video above in which IGN sat down with DOOM’s creative director Hugo Martin and executive producer Marty Stratton in which they talked about the easter eggs in the game. It seems that id Software has put a lot of effort in creating these easter eggs and have hidden one on each level that can be accessible via a hidden door.
When the door opens, it allows players to play old levels of the original DOOM, along with monsters placed in where they were placed back in the day. There are also health packs, ammo packs, and armors positioned in the same places and in some cases, you will also be able to enjoy the game’s original music.
The best part is that once you’ve located all these levels, you will be able to access it from the game’s main menu and play it as one huge level itself. If you’d like to see the easter egg in action, then check out the video above, but like we said, spoiler warning!
