Bethesda has recently published a list of advanced options that only PC gamers will have access to. The other day it was confirmed that the PC version of DOOM would have no framerate limitations, and that is just one of the advantages to playing the PC version. Bethesda has since announced that there will be more.
According to a blog post by the game’s publisher, “Further, the PC version of DOOM will expose a comprehensive set of advanced game and rendering options that will allow players to dial the experience up or down based on their individual desires or hardware capabilities.” Some of these options include adjusting the light quality, shading quality, particles quality, motion blur quality, lens flare, lens dirt, and etc.
Basically if your PC is able to handle all of it, then you should be able to expect a rather beautiful game. That being said, this by no means indicates that the console version is inferior. In fact just the other day the folks at Digital Foundry did some comparisons and from what we saw, the PS4/Xbox One version of DOOM looks just as impressive. DOOM is slated for a release come May 13.
